God may be a quality (a tendency toward order, "enthalpy") but the old wizard with the white beard who created us is a cruel and absurd fairy tale.

We're created by the organic chemical that reproduces itself exactly --DNA. We've got a LOT of junk DNA that does nothing and is from other creatures --insect DNA. Is it possible that an intelligent creator would do such a sloppy, haphazard job? "No."

We can prove evolution exists through observing the development of disease resistance in bacteria. And the DNA shows no elegance, simplicity or sense to it, as if it had happened at random without anthing intelligent directing it.

Lifespans themselves are variable, and there is no pattern to them -- death comes to the good and the bad, the kind and the cruel, the sane and the crazy.

God the creator is NOT a NECESSARY CONCEPT for viewing the world realistically and for making decisions. God is an emotional toy and comfort. I find the superstitiousness and clubhouse attitude of those who believe in him t be creepy and slightly repugnant.

I also find no support anywhere in the natural world for the absurd notion that there was a beginning of time. Observation leads to the overwhelming, certain conclusion that there was no time zero --therefore there was no creator --therefore there is no need for a model of the universe that includes God.

There is absolutely no proof that there is a god. Christians try to make the point of how complex everything is. They say it must have been made by someone. Well if god has always "just been there", why couldn't everything in the universe have "just been there" too. I don't see the need for the middle man. It takes just as much faith, to believe in god, as it does to believe that everything has just always been here. Again, why the middle man????

cuz they cant see him

why would 40 different authors from all different kinds of backgrounds, over a period of over 1500 years collaborate about a God they knew to be false. why would Jesus's followers die at the hand of the Romans if they did not believe that Jesus was God?

I can't believe in any god or gods because there is NO evidence there is any god or gods out there. Everything when it comes to gods is all about faith and nothing more.

There is no logical reason to believe non-existent things, such as "Gods," exist.

Hi, all religions were created by men, so God is also a creation of men, so God doesn't exist, there is your answer

I don't understand why you don't believe in the tree in my front yard, you see, it gives me good shade, its a huge tree, and even thou people say its invisible, I just know in my heart its real. I just have this feeling that the invisible tree in my front lawn is real.

Why do you require an explanation or empirical evidence of my invisible tree?

i don't want to spend too much time on this but simply put, if you believe in God, then God exists for you. if you have a pantheistic belief of God (all things are God), then this is true for you, and you can unquestionably believe it with faith. if you believe in lots of Gods, then they exist for you. if you believe in no God, then no God exists for you. if you believe that you don't exist, then you don't exist for you. such is the nature of subjectivity. also, some people are skeptics and don't believe anything unless it has sufficient evidence. if they think no such evidence exists for proving belief in God correct and they choose to not believe, then no God would exist for them. truly, no evidence does exist to prove theism correct/incorrect, but people have faith in determining for themselves whether or not God exists. even if others--for example, people who believe in no God--try to persuade you that your belief in God is unfounded because evidence points their way, you can still convince yourself that either that evidence is false or it actually points your own way. for instance, some say that if God exists, then we wouldn't have free choice and a possibility of going to hell. however, others can still say that God exists because this free choice is meant to be a test to see if we sin and deserve to go to hell or not. so basically, it's up to you whether or not God(s) exist(s). i think that God exists, but I can offer you no proof because I think none exists; i believe in God with true faith. (in philosophical terms, i would be known as an agnostic theist.) so really, it's useless to debate on this topic, but sometimes we are inclined to because we think our view is correct. the hero strikes again!

two men are stranded on an island.
one has faith that he will be saved by an unseeable, unknowable, untouchable force.
the other studies his environment and tries to figure out a solution on his own.
who will be saved first?
