Run alot and do alot of push ups. At Fort Jackson you do 900 to 1000 push ups a day. make sure you research first before you decide and don't listen to smartasses that put us Army brats down. The Army is a good future. And start studying for the ASVAB. Make sure you take the practice before you go to the MEPS to take the real one. (armygirl2675@yahoo)

Exercise a lot (jog, pushups, everything.) then basic won't be such a shock. Talk to people who have done it. Try to hold a tough job...see if you can put up with all the BS from your boss and getting told what to do all the time, then maybe you can make it. Do something you're afraid of on a regular basis. Pray a lot, ask for God's wisdom to guide you about this. You sure it's Army? What about the Corps? Checked Navy, Air Force? Good luck...

the best advice I've gotten so far is to pray alot. BTW, I too am joining this fall. I think making up your mind to enlist is probably the hardest part. I am a 25 yr old female, I've gotten alot of advice from some truly wonderful people. But, there's always those who say "dont do it" like now a days with troubles all over the world we have a choice? If not us then who? Get your head on straight, trust in yourself, we aren't the first to take this journey, nor will we be the last. They made it, so can you and I. Good luck and God Bless your decision.

Don't worry about preparing. As long as you have everything on the list they give you, you will be alright. They will teach you everything you need to know. Just remember that the sooner you "break" from your civilian habits, the sooner they can build you up in the military way. Oh and by the 2nd week they settle down. That is when you start BRM(Basic Rifle Marksmanship) and I think the Drills know that it isn't a really good thing to yell excessively at someone who has a loaded weapon.

No you don't have to shoot anyone - just a Puppy! Just kidding, but I would start running a couple of miles a day, may 50 push ups and 50 sit ups everyday for a month or two before going end and prepare yourself physically, mentally you will see when you get there. No brainwashing - but a little stressful, but you can make it.

Do a lot of push-ups. You'll do a lot at basic. As it's been mentioned, those who have volunteered to serve and protect the United States of America are for some reason not the most popular people right now. Just remember: those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Run...run everyday...If you can drag a tread mill into a sauna, then wake up at 4am to run for 6 hours, that would be best...teach yourself to masturbate in a public bathroom and not get caught...then if this is not enough, learn how to shine your shoe till they show your reflection. Then the fun things will come naturally. Trust me boot camp is not that hard, just a big mind game.

Congrats! I cant help you to prepare in a practical sense but I can tell you to prepare to be bashed by the liberal blame-America-first , tree-hugger crowd. Whatever happens: know that most Americans strongly support our troops and those willing to serve and risk their lives for our freedoms! God Bless !
