Okay, the Marines and the Navy are different. To go to Anapolis you will need excellent grades, you will have to be in excellent physical condition (and then they will push you even further), you will have to show leadership abilities. Is there a Seabees(?) Navy program for kids or a Civil Air Patrol that you can join.

Take a lot of Math and science course in school

Marines, not as tough academically as Anapolis, but real tough physically.

Don't let people talk you out of it, when it is time weigh all of your options,
the military is not for everyone but it is an excellent choice for many.

Good Luck.

You have some time to make some choices because right now you're too young for either.

While the Marine Corps is part of the Department of the Navy, at some point you will have to decide which it will be: Naval Academy or Marine Corps.

Between the two I'd recommend the Naval Academy, because when you graduate you'll be an officer. Better pay and privileges.

Hey Ryan, why do you want to be known as a gutless yellowbacked craven coward who rapes and shoots unarmed women and children, then runs away and hides from the military commission?
Yep, the USmarines do it all the time because the Iraqi men are just that, MEN, and fight against hi tech weapons with home-made weapons. That's what brave is, knowing you're out numbered and out gunned, and can't see in the dark like your enemy, but you still fight for what you believe in.
They believe that you Americans have invaded illegally to steal their oil, just like the rest of the world believes.

As a USmarine you'll learn that it's much safer to rape and kill unarmed women and children because they can't fight back,
Then you'll learn to exaggerate the stories when you get back home about how they were all men you fought and it was a 'real fight'.
Truth is, the cowards are doing nothing more than shooting fish in a barrell and they know it. Haditha was only one of the many examples.

Have a read of the articles Ryan and ask yourself why would you abandon all your morals to hang around a bunch of total losers?
Take away their guns and remove them from the pack, and they're just another idiot looking for a job.

As a 14yr old kid, you've already get more respect than any USmarine.

DONT join the Marine Corps, your best bet would be the Navy or the Air Force. The marines brainwash you and treat you like complete ****! plus, by the time your 18, you'll probably change your mind about the military all together, I know I did!

Join ROTC, even if its not marines, in highschool. Thats about it at this stage, I would suggest also takeing part in outdoors activities and physical exercise. Also be prepared for the reality that you may die or lose limbs, live in a wheelchair the rest of your life, and all those other things. Once thats accepted your good to go.

Go in the R.O.T.C. See what ALL branches have to offer. And go in SINGLE. You do not want some girl at home messing with your head while you are training. If you can get your parents to approve go rent "Jarhead" the movie and "Boys from Company C".

There is not much you can do to get ready other than just get into good shape and somehow get used to being by yourself I guess.

Wait until you're 18, and don't believe anyone else's opinions, just remember f**k 'em if they can't take a joke.
