not normally. 120 volt ac adapter. this adapter is not autovolt sensing. Or at least to my knowledge it isn't. Check the bottom of the unit for a "nameplate" that states the model number manufacture, ect. on there should be the operating voltage. This is required by UL on all products.

The product will be designed for the mains voltage in the country where it was sold.

So, if it was sold in the U.S.A. it will be one designed for 110/115V.

If it was sold in the U.K. it will be designed for 230V.

But, as another correspondent says, the host unit (the charger) will have a label on it stating the voltage for which it is designed.

Sonicare toothbrushes run off 110 volts, which is standard. The only household appliance I know that runs off 220 volts is a dryer.
