To laugh at someone when they get hurt? Read on...

Not bad hurt... say they just bump their head or something like that. Say they are also laughing at themselves.

So... is it wrong or sinful to laugh with them / at them because they got hurt?

What about laughing at yourself when you hurt yourself? Is that OK?

I'm not sure why you're worried about it but......

I find it hysterical watching someone bump, trip, fall down, etc. I can't help it, and I can't explain it. As a matter of fact, when I stub my toe or something, I laugh hysterically.

Wrong? Well, it is generally considered poor manners to laugh at someone who has hurt his or her head. In my opinion, your first instinct should be along the lines of " Are you all right?" The injured person may laugh out of embarassment, shock, or confusion... that does not mean that you should laugh along with them. Even a slip or a bump can cause problems which are not easily seen. To be on the safe side check your friend for injuries... and don't accept their word for it. Your friend may not be aware of the injury. For example, I have neuropathy in my feet, which mean that I cannot always feel pain. Sometimes my husband has to tell me that I am bleeding on the floor when I have cut myself and didn't feel it. One of my friends bumped his head, said he was all right and passed out as soon as he stood up. Observe your friend for any symptoms and get help, if indicated.

Why do you think America's Funniest Home Videos has been on the air for like 20 years? Or the enduring popularity of the Three Stooges. It's all the same thing, and if being human is wrong or sinful, then I guess we all join that club.

The Bible says laughter is like good medicine.
Proverbs 17:22
"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

There are even reports of people who have had serious illness - like cancer who've turning to watching videos of comedies to help them feel better. Comedian Gilda Radner (former SNL cast member) was one of them.

Laughter also helps to ease tension- especially in awkward or embarassing situations like bumping your head

So much for Bible skeptics.....

Here is what God's word says...

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

So if you do something knowing that it is the wrong thing to do, you have sinned.

By the sounds, you seem as if you feel bad for doing it, so I think you just answered your question.

Besides that, it's what America's Funniest Videos is all about.

laughter is a stress relief, so it is natural when you fear the worse from an injury and realize that it is only a minor thing. so in that sense it is a good reaction
