The inches around is at the ribcage just below the breasts. The Letter denotes the cup size. Bra sizes don't come in odd numbers, only even.

The answer I found was really freaking' weird! The number before the letter represents a formula, and the letter represents a number that's leftover after you do the math, so hang on, because this gets a little heady!
A woman has to measure her frame size, this is the measurement of the area of her chest, right under her breasts. Once she gets that number, she adds five to it. If the answer she gets to that is odd, add a one to it and make it even.
Then she has to measure the diameter of her chest, with her breasts included. That number gets the first number subtracted from it. The remainder represents the letter.
Here it goes: your girlfriend measures just below her chest and gets a measurement of 31 inches. She adds 5 and gets 36, a nice even number.
Then she measures her chest with her boobs included and gets 40. subtract 36 from 40, you get 4. according to the chart I'm going to copy and paste, she has a D cup.
Therefore, her measurement is a 36D.
Man, what a lot of work that was!
Difference (First measurement, minus second measurement)
Cup Size
0 to 1/2 inch
AA
1/2 to 1 inch
A
1 to 2 1/2 inches
B
2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches
C
3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches
D
4 1/2 to 6 inches
DD (E)
6 to 7 inches
DDD (F)
7 to 8 inches
G
etc., etc.
etc.

Measure around your rib cage right underneath your breast (where the bra will be). Then measure around your breast. For every inch difference you add a cup size. For example: if your rib cage under your breast measures 36 inches and around your actual breast measures 39 inches then your bra size would be a 36C.

okay well i dont know why you need to know this you sound kind of perverted, but i will tell you
The bust is the measurment around the bottom of the breasts.
The cup size is well the cup size.
Put them together and you have (bust size)(Cup size)
By the way there arent 35's
They are even numbers

Or, instead of doing retardly crazy calculations measuring our ****, normal girls would rather simply try on a bra. If it's tight, get a bigger one. If it's loose, a smaller one.
Just like pants. Did you ever actually measure down your leg to see if you needed average or tall pants? If so, you're nuts.
