I have no idea what the probability is, but right now, I have in my hand an envelope containing 47 four leaf clovers, found in a 4 month period by my daughter and I in the same patch of clover. I have saved them for 3 years now, and have never seen another. It has to be some kind of genetic deformity, the retarded clovers, or something, but they're cool!!!!

The only way to know the probablity is to first know how many 3 leaf clovers are in the field and how many 4 leaf clovers are in the field.

they are seen reliable success, for the reason that's a uncommon mutation, and perplexing to come across. I as quickly as had a patch in my backyard that had many 4 leaf clovers (lobes), yet whilst that distinctive plant died over iciness, the hot patch did no longer have the 4 lobes.

We in Iidia have a similar plant known as 'palas'. They have so consistently been found to have only three leaves that it has become a proverb that if it is palas it must have only three leaves. And yet occasionally but rarely a palas plant with four leaves is found . Same must be the case with clover.
