I'm originally from Los Angeles, I generally tip around 17.5% for lunch and 20% for dinner. Should I be tipping around the same amount out here in Louisville or do people generally tip less or more?

As a server in KY, I would say that you are right on target with how you "should" tip. However, to be honest, most people I wait on don't honor even that much. The usual is around 15%, depending on which type of restaurant you are dining at.

Here in Louisville standard tipping is 15%. I generally tip on how I was served. If the service was absolutely horrible, I will tip around 10%, but if the service was excellent, I've been known to tip 20 - 25%. A lot of the tipping etiquette has to do with the service.....period, though most will argue that you should at least tip 15%.

Why ask the question? People are people. Service is Service. Tip a little more and make someone's day

15% is good, 20% is great, anything more than that and you shouldn't drink so much next time...lol
