i like both, but i prefer cats.
Cats are cleaner and less dangerous.
you can have as many cats as you wish but one dog is enough for your neighbors to kill you :>

Well, it all depends..... Cats are MUCH easier to care for than dogs. They litter train themselves, They clean themselves, they can even be left alone for a few days with sufficient food and water in an appropriate climate controlled area. On the downside, many people find cats aloof and complain that they are not "loyal" like dogs are. It's true, I've never know a cat that would come when called by its name, unless he/she were in the mood to. Dogs, on the other hand, must be taught to use the newspaper, go outside, use a certain area of the yard, etc, and it ain't easy either! While puppies (and sometimes beyond), they like to chew up anything they can reach. No joke. My brothers German Sheperd chew the WOODEN handles off all of his garden tools one day while he was at work. They tend to gulp down any food or water in sight which makes it near impossible to leave them alone for any period of time (they need feeding). Dogs don't eat - they GULP. Everything is sucked in in one huge GULP, right past the taste buds and into the old stomach, so it really doesn't matter what it tastes like. All the dogs I've had have been given a large roomy yard, but still have insisted on digging out and roaming around the neighborhood at the most inopportune times, occasionally prompting terse notes from neighbors. Dogs also like to bark - at night. While you and everyone else is TRYING to sleep. Sometimes, you can determine why, but most of the time you can't. More terse notes from neighbors. (Am I showing my preference here - sorry). Dogs are, on the other hand, incredibly loving and loyal. They like to jump all over you and maul and slobber and lick you in the face so if you like that sort of thing you'll love them. O - and they DO come when you call their name.

Personally, I'm more of a dog person. Just the way dogs react to and trust humans. But in many ways, I feel the same about cats. Cats are very mysterious though, I never seem to understand their thoughts. I feel I can read dogs better, or at least my doggie at home.

The dog is better than a cat: The dog is the first pet for the human; A dog is more loyal.

Cat because I have owed both and I found that cats don't bark and are so much cleaner then dogs. Dog mess and pee all over the house and yard and dogs smell. Cats dig a hole and bary it. Inside cats have litter boxes and they use them. A dog will not train to a litter box. A cat is loving and lays on your lap. Their coats are softer.
I much perfer a cat to a dog.

Dogs listen to you, and cats don't. They just seem to have a mind of their own. But sometimes dogs are too affectionate. I personally don't like it when someone's dog runs up to me and starts licking me, I think its disgusting. Plus dogs can bark a lot which is really annoying, and be overly physically aggressive. for those reasons I prefer cats.

Dogs are the best. You can take them for long walks and forget all your troubles for a short time, you also get good exercise. They are more dependant on you than cats are. You can teach dogs tricks.

Dogs because dogs are more playful and more fun. Cats just sit around the house all day, try to creep you out and give people allergies.

I think that it depends what type of breed they are. I also think that you should get them when they are small because you can train them and they will trust you more like that. But personally I think they both are in a way. Cats are cute. Dogs are fun to play with.

Dogs are more adaptable to their climate/surroundings than cats', so there is a better likelihood of a strong bond between pet and owner. Cat-bonds are more short lived instinctual impulses.
