No, it helps your dry scalp and damaged hair. But for highlight, they gotta be kidding me.
Do this inexpensive way - Go to walmart, by the hair section, and get Sun-In (for about $5 more or less). Its a spray that highlight your hair in the sun or heat. I had it done especially when my hair was dyed to black and I wanted to lighten it. So it went from black to auburn. Maybe the more I use it, the lighter I go.

I'm not sure about Olive Oil, but you can squeeze a lemon, get a paintbrush and paint the parts you want your hair lighter. Then, stay out in the sun and they will get a little lighter.

Sweetheart, I don't know who told you that but it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Lemon juice and sunlight will give you very subtle highlights. Best to see a pro.
