My mother-in law has started to ignore my 3-year old daughter, and out of the blue. Whenever we go over there she'll turn her back to my daughter and will just ignore her. I need some advice on how to deal with this. Should I just confront her and ask her what her problem is? Or should I keep the peace and just stay away? Has anyone else had this problem with their in laws?

Confrontation can be done in a positive way.Role play with your husband. He probably knows her typical reactions. She may not even be aware of her behavior or is using the child to express her emotions because of her negative feelings toward you or someone else. Give it some thought before going forward. Good luck.

Sounds like a typical Indian in-law...I think you should try to talk to her if that fails, just teach your daughter that not everyone in the world is so nice....trust me, when the in-law will get old and will need hep, shell come to your daughter first...than she can just say "Sorry, but you were a ***** in the begging so i hope u go to hell!" please show this to your in-laws...because honestly....when daughters marry, especially in India...they lose all their rights...so make sure you can get others involved such as other relatives. and plz so the in-law what I wrote! Hope everything works out.

There is a possibility that your MIL has a mental problem that has arisen and no one sees it. I would be concerned about her health. In fact, I would bring this up to her in a non-confrontational way, in concern for her. It will get the conversation going and you will find out what is going on...but listen carefully, she may not be playing with a full deck. Good luck

I'm sorry for your baby girl.Maybe your mother in-law is a creep did you ask your hubby what's up with her?I'd start with him if you don't get any answers from him and she does it again I'd ask her.If she doesn't answer you and continues to treat your baby that way I'd stop putting my baby in that situation period!

I would refuse to go over there. Sooner or later the MIL will ask what's wrong and you could tell her then.

I would talk to your husband about that and ask him if he knows what would make her do such a thing.

You need to talk to her about it, but constructively.

Problems don't get fixed because people pretend they aren't there.
