Say there is the best new restaurant or an awesome new ride at Disneyland (or another amusement park)that you l-o-v-e would you want to talk about it and spread the word? This is exactly what Christians are doing except they found the best darn thing in the WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. Now that I believe is something well worth talking about. Maybe "converting" people is the way you look at it. But oh man when someone actually finds out about Christianity they will be wondering where has this been my entire life?!?!? Right under your nose. God is the creator of everything on this Earth. The next time something takes your or someone else's breath away think, God made that.

This is an excellent question! I guess it is because people outside of jails don't find Jesus that easily. Being a Christian is not a pleasant religion, you suffer, Jesus suffered for you, you are born with a sin, and your life is hell so that after you die you can enjoy something better. I think this is a gppd reason to require people to convert. What i don't understand is why they have to do it forcefully. Just think of the crusaders.... Then again, there are other religions that try to make people become more religious within their religion...

because it is a command in the bible that says to go out and spread the good news about Jesus and what he has done by dying on the cross for all our sins it is not for christians to convert people but to share the word of God and then God will work on peoples hearts, christians just need to live a lifestyle that will show Gods love unfortunatly not all people who say they are christians live that life so dont judge all because of the hypocrytes which so many people do

Greetings:
If you do even a very superficial study of all the great religions of the world, you'll quickly realise they've ALL - with the exception of Buddhism - strayed very, very far from the path laid down by their founders, e.g., so-called Christianity and chattel slavery.
SOME claim they have this mandate from their founder, the Rabbi Yeshua, whom they call Jesus Christ - and after whom they've taken their name - even though he was Jewish. And yet, they see absolutely no contradiction. Some interpretation huh?
They claim the Rabbi said, "I am the way, the truth and the light, and no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." So they have a mandate - and are duty bound - to convert people.
They're too blind to understand the Rabbi was referring to Himself as a manifestation of THE UNIVERSAL LOVE PRINCIPLE!!!
Their foolish leaders give this as the presenting reason. The underlying one however - the REAL reason - is to fatten their coffers by increased membership. Witness televangelists, Jahovah's Wickedness, Seventh Day Advantage, Episcopagans and popeism.
These fat cats wring every single dime from the poorest of the poor, with all kinds of gambling, baseless publications and idolotrous trinkets (contrary to their own Book), dine sumptiously, sleep between silk sheets, and have the latest model luxury cars in their garage, while they have the GALL to preach to their grey-matterless followers, "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Heck, they need to convert people to maintain their standard of living, especially since increasing numbers of them now have to sell some of their places of worship, because rapidly growing numbers of the now generation absolutely refuse to buy their spiritual junk food.
Peace,
Gondarite

All Chritians don't! However, the ones that do are generally NEW Christians, or teenagers and are just learning about God and Jesus, and are so thrilled with this new "feeling" that they think they have the right to demand all others feel the same way. Its a very large pain in the butt to be asked by some fool "Have you been saved?" after you tell them you are Christian. Its a very immature way to behave.

Yes, we want to tell everybody that Jesus loves you! As we have many choice here in the earth, it is important that we tell people that only way to the Father's house is through Jesus Christ. We do not want anybody miss the gift of eternal life. Because what comes to eternity, there are only two choices: hell and heaven.
You do not have to be a bad person, but if you do not accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and accept the gift of eternal life with him..you do not have to be with God in eternity. Fair enough?

Christians are called to share their faith with others and spread the "good news" of the salvation given to us by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Note that Christians are NOT called to convert people. Salvation is a gift that is freely given and must be freely accepted. There is no call or justification for Christians to force or coerce non-Christians to convert.

Hello Enigmatic33.. :)
We cannot convert anyone..
One must ask Jesus into their heart by their own free will..
We share the Gospel to let people know that there is another way..and we can have forgiveness of our sins..
We do not have any need to tell others about Jesus..it is a wanting to share..His Love and our Love with them.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

Just like Noah tried to save people from the flood in his day, true Christians do all they can to save others. We do not want anyone to be destroyed, but like God, we want all to come to an accurate knowledge of him and his purposes and so we do all we can to warn them about God's war against the wicked called Armegeddon. Jesus said that the last days we are living in would be just like in the days of Noah. We give people the warning, but few listen.

Because Jesus told his disciples to go witness to everyone.
And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."-Matthew 24:14.
