I guess I am a little biased on this question. I don't smoke. But I do live in Colorado Springs. As a non-smoker, I will enjoy eating in restaurants more than before. I can't see how the ban will negatively effect profits for the local restaurants or bars. If you want to smoke you will find a way to do so (outside away from me).

We voted in Florida four years ago to ban all smoking in resturants and dining establishments. Most resturants have reported a increase in overall customer response. Especially those that carried the no smoking ban to total no smoking in both the bar and resturant.
I think the next no smoking item is going to be a ban on smoking at public events, outdoor concerts, or anywhere children might be exposed to the second hand effects of this evil weed.

Same ban going into effect here in Chicago. I and my wife will be dining out more often because of it. There is NOTHING more disgusting than trying to enjoy a steak at Outback Steakhouse and have smoke waft over from the smoking section. Disgusting.

NY did this years ago, while it did not affect the number of times I dine out, it did affect where. I did not go to many restaurants because of their set up between smoking and non-smoking. If I could smell the cigarettes I did not go there.

It probably wont effect my dining out. I am a smoker and i dont mind it if i cant smoke in a restuarant. It will effect my going out to a bar for a drink though. I believe that many small bars will be closing because of the ban. Most patrons of bars smoke. This law took away rights of private establishments to run their businesses in a way they wish to. Please check this website to see all the bars that closed in other states due to smoking bans.

eat ****. This us of a became in protecting with tobacco producton. i imagine they ought to make smoking manditory, and implement reformatory sentences in case you dont smoke cigarettes. and under no circumstances very few, like 1/2 %. min an afternoon or u flow to the large homestead. second hand smoke damage is about as a danger as international warming. I guess you receives some type of maximum cancers in any case from ingesting nutrients with hormones and chemical substances in it, or a tumer from bitching about cigarette smoke on those lame posts. yet i am hoping no longer. enable's flow to Vegas and discover someone which will take a huge gamble from us on who will stay longer.

less and I'm in Missouri..they havent banned it all yet but figure it wont be long before all the states adopt the law..I dont like laws that intrude on peoples rights..I think business owners will see the errors of their ways in the long run and then it will be too late to make up for lost money..oh well..wonder if they will ever bring back prohibition?..yah right...
