To those who have already answered, I didn't say 'illegally immigrate'; obviously the US does not technically allow anyone to do that. The US government does not currently allow Haitiians to come here with a green card or working papers. Mexican citizens and others can come here legally if they file the proper paperwork and get approval. Haitiians are not allowed this opportunity and I was wondering what the politically circumstances are to determine this. Please don't reply with a guess or opinion.

It is a blatant racist policy of the US government. Haitians have had numerous civil wars where there have been documented atrocities committed by their regimes. Still, the US will not grant them asylum and has helped to overthrow several Haitian presidents. Haiti is yet another stain on the uneven US foreign policy.
P.S. If you do not know anything about the island, then you should have not attempted to answer. Ignorant comments leave you open to being labeled something that you are probably not.

The US allows anyone to immigrate who can qualify as an immigrant under the law, be they Haitian, Mongolian or Martian.

They don't have a government we recognize, I think, but I never looked it up, specifically. Try to push for fair elections over there.

I don't know US government should. They don't complain as much when mexicans anddominicans be migrating here illeagally.

I believe it is because alot of them are uneducated and don't have anything to offer our society. They also don't have high morals and have a tendency towards committing crimes. This is what I've been told.
