It would take about 6 hours for them because the 4 men took half an hour (12h) to dig a hole then 8 men to dig half the amount of the hole would be just 6hrs like I said earlier.

3 hours.
becoz the 4 men took half a day, which it 12 hours, to dig the hole. and 8 men work faster, so if they were to dig a full hole it would take 6 hour, but sence they r digging half a hole its 3 hours, get it?

straight forward, the answer is two days. If it takes a million day for 2 men to dig 0.5 of a hollow, then it may take 2 days for 4 men to do a similar aspect. it really is the ratio for representation: a million day : 2 men= 2 days: 4 men.

A half of a half of a day because the number of men is doubled halving the time and the hole size is halved, halving it again. This makes half of a half of a day or a quarter. Aproximately 6 hours.

Since it's a riddle, everyone else has already gotten the answer. If this was a math question, then you'd be missing some important info, like how deep the hole is. =/
