More likely than not he will be fine. Make sure that the area where he was bitten is cleaned well. Sometimes it's difficutl to remove all of the tick, so he might get an infection. As for lyme disease, most, but not all cases of lyme disease are transmitted by deer ticks. If he shows signs of lameness (limping) or a fever make sure you call your vet.

Make sure you got all of the tick. Treat the area where you removed it with rubbing alchohol - make sure the dog can't lick it. Watch the area. After three days if things don't look good - call the vet

take the tick off his ear and make sure there is not still part of the tick in his ear when u take it out. after that go to the vet to make sure its okay and get some medicine for fleas and ticks so he won't get anymore.

Definately take it off and then watch it. It should go away in a few days. He may have a scab, but that is o.k. You should put on Advantix to keep the ticks off. It is the tiny tiny ticks that carry lyme disease.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's the small ticks that bury themselves in the skin that carry diseases. Large ticks (like that one) swell up with blood and then fall off.

He should be. In Australia it's the blue/grey ones that make our dogs sick.
