It will help.

Backcombing is just that. Instead of combing down, the person combs back towards the scalp. This creates a sort of teased or tangly effect. A person can then smooth out the surface of the back combed areas and they will be left with INSTANT VOLUME.

God.......I love hair. =)

Ill effects? It can. Don't tangle the hair too much, it's a pain to get out and too much or too frequent backcombing can break and damage hair.

Well I don't know if you mean flipping your head down and brushing your hair it does increase volume add a little hair spray to get even more volum but that's really an 80's thing hope this helps

Back combing is teasing your hair hold your hair upward and comb it downwards
this will make your hair look thicker If your hair is to thin than that won't help to much
go see your doctor.
