Have two ADHD kids, and no time. Not into heavy meat stuff. Like easy picnic foods, and cool foods. Need new fresh ideas. Like things quick and easy, that kids will eat too.

There are a lot of strategies for weight loss, but the basic goal is to eat fewer calories. In the past 15 weeks I've lost 17 pounds and eaten lots of yummy things by doing a low carb diet. This has allowed me to eat nuts, cheese, lean meats, and lots of tasty things as long as I stay away from white bread and pasta and other types of refined carbs that leave you hungy again in 20 minutes and have very little nutrative value for the high amount of calories.

Also, the biggest contributer to my weight loss was probably switching from beer to vodka and seltzer with lemon (not something like roses lime - that has a lot of calories - also - not tonic - which also has a lot of calories) I've had some great salads with lots of vegtables, nuts, cheese, fruit and or chicken breasts. You can go crazy with vinager and herbs, and other seasonings and marinade to add a lot of flavor to chicken breasts or beef, garlicky pickles make a great snack with almost no calories, a hunk of cheese is yummy and satisfies more than cheesits crackers. Instead of a glass of OJ, eat an orange for the fiber which will stick with you longer. I love carrot sticks with hummas and refried beans (I get the fat free kind) and beans of all sorts make a nice sub when you are accostomed to having potatoes or rice and you can add some salt and prechopped garlic for some easy jazz.

best of luck

Hi,

I've been doing Weight Watchers points for about six weeks and I found I was always really hungry in the morning only an hour after breakfast. So I started having fruit smoothies with breakfast. Made a big difference almost no pre-lunch snacking and tons of energy.Really easy if you buy frozen fruit. This recipe makes 2 drinks.

In a blender add 1 cup OJ, 1/3 cup( add or subtract to suit your taste) of frozen berries of choice ( I like a mix of strawberries and black/rasberries and 2 to 3 tablespoons of vanilla nonfat yogurt. Blend until fruit is liquidfied. You will always have some chunks of frozen fruit left over Enjoy

Grilled chicken, low fat triscuits with turkey sandwich meat, carrots and celery, baked lays or baked Doritos, tuna or chicken salad made with fat free or low fat mayo with celery and pickle relish on triscuits or low fat saltines, spinach dip made with frozen spinach, 1 cup of low fat or fat free mayo, 8 ounces of fat free sour cream, 4 ounces of low fat shredded cheese and 2 packets of Goya salad and vegetable seasoning(if you cannot find the Goya brand use Knorr vegetable soup mix) all mixed together on the stove and served with low fat tortilla chips or triscuits, use the same recipe as above except substitute artichokes for the spinach and no seasoning but add garlic salt and serve with baked Ritz sour cream and onion chips. My kids love all this stuff..........
