The M stands for Mr, Mrs or Ms. Fill it out Mr and Mrs Last name and the names of the children. Children cannot attend unless they have been invited. Are their names on the envelope?

You fill in "Mr, or Mr and Mrs, and then you usually have another line for the number of people who are attending. If there is not another line for the number, you should probably include "and children" on that line (and possibly put a total number). That is for the reception "count".

Mr & Mrs whatever your last name is. Are the children invited? If so, with children and number.

The M stands for Mr & Mrs., Miss, Ms., or any other title you wish to supply.
How to use the card: throw it out, and write a proper reply on your own writng paper. Pre-filled out cards with blanks are for dentists' offices and the DMV, and are socially obnoxious.

"r. and Mrs. Elmer Fudd and our two spawn"
or something like that. The "M" that's there is the first "M" for "Mr." or "Mrs." or "Ms."
Before you send it back, though, make sure your kids are really invited. Does it say "and family" on the invitation?

There are two envelopes: the inner envelope will say who is actually invited. IF THAT ENVELOPE DOES NOT HAVE YOUR CHILDREN'S NAMES ON IT, THEN YOUR KIDS ARE NOT INVITED. DON'T BRING THEM. Some people really do not want children at their wedding and that is their right.

ya know, I never could figure that out. I just always kind of ignored it.
The "M", I mean, not the invitation. And a good way out is to send a nice, personal, handwritten RSVP and enclose the blank card.
