I worked in a bakery for 3 years, the difference is pretty much nothing... except the baking time... If you pay attention, the Italian bread is softer in the crust.. the french is very very hard.. that is the difference

there maybe some other differences, we made them in a grocery store.. they were the exact same from what I remember

Italian bread comes from Italy.
French bread comes from France.
