Xanax can become highly addictive because it is so efficacious (it works)! It's the ultimate "Fight of Flight" drug and because it is in the Opiate family, it can make you high as a kite--in a tranquil sort of way.

If you take too much of it, particularly around bedtime, you know how hard it then is to wake up in the morning. I was fearless when I took it. It actually made me become aggressive because it killed my anxiety to the point where I barely cared about or feared any of life's consequences.

Having said that, if you can learn to stay in control with it (a challenge for sure), it is far and away the most effective anti-anxiety medication on the market in my opinion.

xanax is an addictive medication. whenever a woman claims to be nervous or full of anxiety doctors just throw addictive drugs at them. ow, my arm hurts. okay, here's some oxycodone. whatever gets them hooked keeps them coming back for refills. just like you corner dope dealer. except it's legal.

Yes, you can become addicted. Actually, a close friend died from overdosing on Xanax.
