'The Acts of the Apostles' from the Bible gives a good account of the early church. Other historical accounts are written by Flavius, St Augustine, etc.
Why not try searching for 'History of the Church' on the website?

The Library carries alot of videos, The spread of Christianity, is a good one and it tells how it spread through all the continents, Rome was at the start after Paul preached to them, and Christianity came about, the russians, africa, the U.S., Mexico, it is a real interesting video to watch.
