I know tea has the anti-oxidants so it could be healthier, but they both contain caffeine and a load of other crap. So which is least likely to stain my teeth, give me cancer or mess up my brain?

Sorry I realise my question is badly worded but it's deliberate. I knew if I said 'which is healthier' people would say tea immediately because of anti-oxidants. But I wanted people to consider the negative points of each.

Freshly brewed coffee has lots of good things, and can help decongest and perk you up when you have a cold. Tea, however, does not have as much caffine as coffee.
If you are worried about the nasties in both these hot drinks, I would recommend herbal teas, which have lots of healthy properties, and they are widely available from supermarkets. You can have lots of different varieties, and a lot contain suplements such as ginseng, echinacia etc.

Good point. Both are equally bad. If you drink instant coffee I would say that is the worst as it is freeze dried and I don't think tea is the same. The better options are fresh ground coffee or herbal tea (not flavoured but herbal). There's no caffeine at all.

Coffee is worse and has a stronger addiction possibilty than tea. But both are bad because of caffeine. Switch to decaffeinated tea or herbal tea, pure fruit juices and no more sodas - much healthier for you.

Tea is healthier, coffee stains your teeth and has a load of caffeine and other stuff that's bad for your body.

Firstly, I have never heard of either giving you cancer! In fact, I believe that antioxidants are supposed to protect you from cancer!
Health-wise, it depends upon what sort of tea you prefer! China tea is supposed to be healthier. 'Workman's Tea' has milk in it (calcium!). However, tea seems to stain cups more than coffee.
I prefer coffee - black!
Anything is bad for you if you have too much of it! Everything in moderation!
You drinks your poison and takes your choice - so drink what you want - and make sure you clean your teeth well!

tea is more healthy because although it has caffeine in it it's not as bad as coffee.(i heard this on a science channel) if you had100 cups of coffee in a day or two you would die due to the caffeine however tea wouldn't kill you if you drunk that much you would just feel a bit sick.
