Because America is very uptight about sex. What can you say about a place founded by puritans? To Dez- uhmmm. . . that's what the parental controls are for, and I'd way rather have kids see nudity than some of the violence that will give them nightmares.

Anyway what is and is not considered accpetable on tv varies vastly from country to country. In America, you can't see a naked body, but you can blow it up. In Britain, well, I've seen BBC crime shows, and found it odd how little violence there was. As i understand it, the Highlander TV show was a really good example of this duality. I heard that they filmed about an hour and a half long show- cut out the sex and sent it to the states, cut out the worst of the violence and sent it to Europe.

I really do feel that the protection of children is up to the parents of those children, and that the rest of us shouldn't be stopped from seeing what we want to just because some people can't control their kids.

If you want sex on TV, go to Europe - particularly Italy. America has a strong Puritanical cultural heritage that lingers as a prudishness about nudity and bathroom functions. Until that fades, forget nudity on TV.

Come to Finland. They'll show anything. Nudity is not a big deal unlike other prudish countries.
