This is all proof that there is no god. If there really was a god, than why would he favor one person over another because they commited the "sin" of being born gay. maybe some people do choose to be gay because they want to be but in todays social climate i highly doubt it. if they choose to be gay or if they are born gay it is not wrong by my book because that really doesnt matter in a person. unless they rape me. every gay person i have met has been a good person and i see no reason to condem them because of their sexual preferences. for all those christians who say its a sin: no one cares ok? just cause some book that a bunch of guys made up a couple thousand years ago says that homosexuality is wrong doesnt mean you have to press your beliefs on everyone else. im strongly opposed to those people who say there should be an amendment to the consitution banning gay marriage. there is supposed to be seperation between church and state in the government, this is christianity imposing its beliefs on the american people and it is wrong.

Homosexuality is a sin because of what the people did when Mose went up on the mountain to get the ten commandments. It is stated in the bible the the high priest took men as well as women in their tents and laid ed with them. That I hopes answers your question. Why someone would want to choose this type of life style I can't answer. The only thing you can do if you not gay is treat everyone as you would want them to treat you. Don't pass judgment because if you do, you are also passing judgment on yourself. This is stated in the bible. I you are gay I would say keep your head up live your life the best you can and let the Lord judge you when you stand at his right hand on judgment day.

It can and gays certainly do choose this.
Let me say this also. Homosexuality is NORMAL.
But what most gays are doing is certainly NOT normal. They are specifically trying to be as abnormal as possible as a way to be depraved and perverted. That is where the sin is.
Homosexuality has been around for as long as man has been around....every culture, every period in history. Obviously it's a normal part of the human condition and God's will.
Prior to WWII, homosexuality was a non-issue. No big deal. A certain, small percentage of people were gay and they LIVED NORMAL, DECENT, CHRISTIAN LIVES.
Today, gays are FAR more numerous. The amount of legitimate homosexuals are the same and they are still normal people. But, the extra. The vast majority. Are freaks who are only engaging in gay sex to be perverted. That is a choice and a sick one at that.
Particularly bad are the vast majority of the prison population. These people engage in gay sex as a method of violence and victimization of others. They are waaaay past sinful and depraved and are into hardcore evil.
These people have changed the nature of what it means to be gay. This is the source of all the judgement of gays. This is where the problem lies.

It is not a sin to me. This is a concoction of people who are scared and do not like things they don't understand about. Christianity sure has made homosexuality a big sin and some have even claimed it's in the Bible, but you know what? I need someone to point that out to me because I don't see it. Never once. I'm Catholic but I have no problem with homosexuality. You like who you like and that's that. And if God is as gracious as people think he is, he'll accept us if we're willing to accept him and such.

There are many things in the Bible that are said to be a sin. Did you know that it says that a man sleeping with a women during her period should be put to death. Jesus said to judge not lest ye be judged. One of the ten commandments state that it is a sin to commit adultery. Another says to love thy neighbor as thy self. I honestly don't know what God has to say about homosexuality. I do know that any educated person knows that a person does not choose their sexuality. Anyone who thinks that it is a choice is just plain ignorant. Why don't we learn to love our neighbor and leave the judgment of our neighbor to God?

I don't think it is a "choice" except that the person chooses to accept that they must live in a climate of fear, lack of acceptance, and possibly danger.
I don't think it can be measured against the argument that a killer can't control his urges to kill. The difference, on at least the most basic and obvious level, is that killing hurts people, being gay does not.

I'll put it to you this way. A kleptomaniac is a person who can not control themselves from stealing. You might say...well, they CAN control themselves, they can just stop stealing...well there lies the double standard. Stealing is a sin so therefor a kleptomaniac is a sinner. A homosexual is a person who has sex with the same sex. It's a sin. You might say...well, they CAN'T control themselves, they can't stop having sex with the same sex...that's where we are back to the double standard. YES they CAN stop having sex with the same sex...just as a heterosexual can stop having sex with the opposite sex. You don't need sex to live...just as you don't need to steal to live. This doesn't mean you can't be saved, it doesn't mean you will go to hell. You can repent, but remember to repent doesn't mean just asking forgiveness, it means taking a different path as well. If you are not religious, it doesn't matter anyway. Good Luck

Oh, but it 'can' be controlled!!! if a person really wants to change they surely can.
I feel it's hogwash when a person says they were born that way, or they can't be anything different.
In a way it's a sin if they feel it's a sin. If they strongly believe that it isn't a sin, then it's not a sin.
It's their choice in life, so what they create will be.

Putting aside the insults for a second, let this closed-minded fundmantalist point out that it's not wanting other guys or other girls that's considered a sin, it's entering a sexual relationship with them. It's not a sin to want, it's a sin to do. And there's plenty of things i want to do that are sins, so everybody gets the same deal.

I am so tired homosexuality being discussed in the public realm. God made us sexual beings. He also gave us tools to give us self-control. That is self control in food, drink, gambling, sexual promiscuity, etc.
You can't tell me that half naked men, dressed up as women dancing on a float in a parade is not a choice.... Were they born that way? putting inanimate objects in places they don't belong....born that way?
Also, I hear so many people saying: "what someone does in private is their business". Well, then keep it private! When you tell me you're gay, you're telling me how you have sex! If I told you how I have sex....you'd say: "too much information". double standard.
