Because a lot of people are misinformed about Pit Bulls. The media doesn't help either with the reporting of all of the bad stories about Pits. I own a Pit Bull and he is nothing but a big baby and a lap dog. It is all on how the dog was raised and trained. The ones that are out biting people are the ones that weren't brought up right and probaby abused. I don't think that that is right at all. The ones getting in trouble should be the owners of the dogs, not the dogs. The only reason they are so feared is because they are all muscle and when you pair that with being treated badly, you get a bad combination. From what I understand(I don't live in Cali but I looked it up) and what the law is saying is that they can have a Pit Bull killed for ANY reason at all. That is NOT fair. Because so many idiotic low life people out there are breeding them to kill, and too many people are being attacked by the dogs that have been trained. Many people are ignorant and know nothing about the breed, and they discriminate against the breed because the only media attention that pit bulls get are from dog fights. PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED!
You'll never see in the news about a pit bull saving someone's life. News is nothing but a gathering of pessimists focusing on everything that makes the world a bad place to be.
Pit Bulls are very gentle and NOT aggressive. At least mine isn't. He's a doll, but you'll never know that because that's not what the media wants you to know! Never believe the media. It's all yellow journalism for the most part. You remember how rumors spread in high school, that's pretty much what some of the news is...glorified rumors spreading like wild fire.
Pardon me for ranting, I'm tired of these bans. No one will ever tell me to give up my pit bull. I'd like to see them try! =)

Because of your stupid governer. Pit bulls get the wrong name becuase a lot of people buy them because of their aggresiveness. owning a pit bull can also make you lose your house insurance. People train their pit's to be mean. any dog can be aggresive and bite someone it's just when people train their pit's to do this it gave the pit bulls a bad reputation. i owned a pit bull it was a big baby. I seen a baby sit their and bite this pit bull and all the dog do was sit their. If people would stop all of this horrible training of the pit's then they could be great loyal dogs. It's not the breed, bloodline, or natural instinct of the dog. It is how you train them.

Pit bulls are banned in Ontario Canada too.They are considered dangerous and have had a history of killing old people and young children.
I dont know if it is the truth...if the pit bulls are naturally aggressive!

Pitbulls are awesome dogs if they are raised in a loving home with a good responsible owner. I have a pit and shes the best dog i have ever owned!. So many ignorant people in this world that know nothing about the breed. Btw labs and poodles attack more then pitbulls if you know the stats.!

not all pits are mean and the 1s that r there bad owners made them that way and the reason there doin it in cali is bc ur calis stupid govenvor thinks there mean.i have 2 pit bulls and there the sweetest dogs ever if the ppl that said there mean its prolly bc they had 1 and made it mean

never heard of this however,any dog or animal for that matter can be aggressive,it depends on its enviroment and who raises it. pit bulls are not aggressive by nature, i have two and have many kids in and out of my home because of teenagers of my own, my sienna and blade have never put fear into anyone...one of my pits thinks she is a lap dog...everyone loves her...and for anyone who thinks they should not exsist.....well you know where you can go!!!! if you own any animal and treat it well it will be just as kind...learn how to raise them before you get one!!!

they're idiots thats why they think all Pitts are dangerouse and i think they're illegal to have in California not all Pitt Bulls are dangerouse my sister raises Pitt Bulls and she has 2 kids none of her Pitt Bulls have ever tried to hurt her kids 'cause she raises them good its the person who raises them not the breed alot of people need to get that through theyr heads

Well I think it's inhumane!!!!!!!!!, but they did get a bad reputation, poor dogs. It's not the dog, it's their owners who make the dogs fight & act mean.So they kill the dogs out of Fear, that they'll turn on anyone.It's really discussting, isn't it??????.
