how do you curl hair when its short without it looking shorter?

My hair is short and curly. Now that its sumemr I want to curl it but I don't know how to curl it without it going up and looking more curly. Is there an easy way to do this, can I make it dry natural to get this result? How?

Some times I want my curls to look longer too, so here's an easy tip. Just grab the bottom section of your hair, and take a large curling iron to it. Make sure to use lots of hair spray so that the curls stay round, and then use your fingers to seperate and pull them down to make them a little longer. Do all of this after your hair has air-dryed. The curls you faked will blend right in with the rest...that's the beauty of having curly hair.

If you're actually wanting your whole head of hair to seem less curly, try frizz ease's extend cream. It's formulated to make curls less tight before you straighten it. But if you use it alone, it'll give you pretty, loose waves. Just put a quarter-size amount in your palm, run your fingers through your hair starting at the roots and concentrating on the ends, and then let it air dry!

I'm a guy so this is probably totally wrong, but here goes:

Try curling your bottom hair only slightly, so it looks curly but it won't be in a tight wrap and make your hair look really short. Then curl slightly more as you go back to the top of your head so the curls get tighter but there's a transition to it.

Or you can just get extensions. Whichever one might work. Again, I'm a guy so this is probably incorrect.

Use rod rollers , One size big than hair lenght, Hair will curl with extra lenght, and won't be curly.

This question made no sense to me at all! Maybe its just me , but you started out with"My hair is short and curly............." How do you make curly hair curly ???? Especially and not make it shorter, excuse me if I'm wrong, maybe you should rewrite your question to make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!
