I mean, if you live in the northern part of the US, you have snow and ice and just three months of warm/hot weather. If you live in the southern part, say Florida, you have warm weather most of the time, bugs almost all the time, and don't forget the hurricanes! Excluding the ideal of living in the north during the summer and living in the south during the winter, please choose... and why. (No dissertations, please.)

Briefly, when I first moved to FL 16 years ago, I was able to go to the beach my first New Year's Eve day!!! I mean, in the water. Now, of course, I can't. But the water is pure, and you can see the little fish that swim around your feet. If you go out on a boat or snorkeling, you can enjoy the wonders of the ocean. People scuba year-around in FL, really, and it is wonderful!!! I think the definitive answer is that nature is wonderful, really, and can be enjoyed whereever you are. BTW, last year during Hurricane Wilma, the eye went right over us -- if a hurricane can be awesome, this was totatlly awesome. Hard to explain, but... I survived Wilma and found it to be an awesome experience.

I'll take the climate in Northern Ohio, thanks.

The winters are "snow and ice," but no bugs. The snow and the ice are quite beautiful.

Spring and Fall are lovely, and, no bugs.

Summer is well-worth the wait, AND the bugs! :-))

I'd have to say snow and ice. This is a popular choice I can see, but it does make sense. In the cooler climates of the North, there are distinct winter and summer climates. The beauty is, in between, the transitions make for the most beautiful weather, I think. You just don't quite get that in year-round warm climates. At least not the bug-free part. In any case, the snow and ice climates of the North prevail in my mind.

P.S. Band geeks rule!!!!

They took care of the bug problem a few years back. You get 4 days warning for a hurricane. It is July and 86 degrees out side right now. Blizzards BRRRRR -20 no thanks Tornadoes no warning yikes! 3 Feet of snow to shovel. Skidding off the road! Warming the car and clearing the windshield in the dark. The only bad part of Florida is thousands of northerners moving down here every year!

In my opinion, snow and ice are much more appealing than bugs and heat. In the northern United States where there are snow and ice, there is a myriad of activities to do. For example, snow boarding, skiing, ice skating, and building snowmen. In the southern United States, there are bugs like mosquitoes and you are sweating like all the time. There is also the threat of hurricanes. That is why snow and ice are more appealing to me than bugs and heat.
