Yeah, it's highly possible. It's mostly genetics. Do the men on your mom's side have their hair still? Many guys lose their hair around 18-25. I've been going gray since 25, which is genetic in my family, even though baldness isn't.

I had a friend who lost his hair on top due to a accident he was in he bashed his head. And a a result he started to lose his hair. Just go to your MD. And ask him he might have some answers for you. It can't hurt to ask. In the salon we carry a line that is called Nixon that helps with thinning hair issues also shedding issues to the clients love it.

look at your lifestyle: stress level, eating habits, etc. Go see a specialist. I dont know if its common, but its a shame to start loosing your hair at a young age. But men are lucky in the sense you can always shave all your hair off. Bruce Willis is sooooo hot and he is two and a half times my age.

Some men start losing their hair while still teens. My boyfriend starting losing his when he was 17.
See your general doctor though, to make sure it's not health related.

Could be either genetic or lack of selenium in your diet.
Selenium rich foods are Brazil nuts, wheatgerm, molasses, sunflower seeds.wholewheat bread, and dairy foods.
As a temporary boost you could always try Selenium A.C.E. tablets from health food shop but if you resort to this treatment then it better to see your doctor.

I would suggest you see a dermatologist. Though it is possible, it may be something to be concerned about, most likely, its just genes....
Just make sure its nothing to be worried about.
Get your iron checked as well...are you taking your daily vitamins??

It's not common, but sometimes it happens early. What is your father or grandfather's hair like? It may be hereditary.

Do you fiddle with your hair?
See your GP first. It may be a dietary deficiency or it might be a more serious condition.
Worrying about it may make it worse.
