Chicken. Without the chicken, what would lay the egg? And if there was an egg on it's own, there has to be a chicken to look after it until it hatches.

Well, Studies have shown that life started with a single cell organism. This was figured by the adaptation that they grew to multiple cells which were mammals. So the correct answer would be "The chicken came before the egg.

A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is smoking a cigarette with a satisfied smile on its face. The egg is frowning and looking a bit pissed off. The egg mutters to no one in particular, "Well, I guess we answered THAT question!"

Chicken because God made it first. The chicken lay eggs. An egg cannot exist by itself.

I believe it's the egg. Before creatures evolved into advanced animals, most things were single celled and very simplistic. An egg is one big cell! That cell probably grew into what is a chicken, and then the chicken reproduced itself.
