I am AB+, my mother is A+, so what blood type does that make my father? (I could call him and ask, but he's an *** and we haven't spoken in 5 years).

Also, since my blood type is in only 2.5% of the population, is there a blood that is compatible to use in all types? My partner thinks that type O can be used in tranfusions regardless of what blood type the reciever is. Is that true?

Your father was B+, which makes you a universal recipient. You can receive blood from donors who are A+, B+, or O+. People with type o blood are able to donate to anyone, as they are universal donors.

Type O is a universal blood type, which means that it can be used in someone when the blood type is not known. I assume that there is a website out there where you can find information. If it were me I would type in: My blood type is AB+, my mother is A+, what type of blood would my father be. If you need this information because you have a medical condition then you may have to contact your father or have your mom to. Finding a cure for you illness would be worth a few minutes of conversation with you father.

I heard that type O is the universal type of blood so that anybody who needs blood can have it, although i dont think it matters what your father has, but i am not really sure.
