I tried accessing my website at geocities (www.geocities.com/bala_sify). But without success. Says page cannot be displayed. What is the reason?

Even if I do not have an index.html, I still should get the directory listing. I used to get this till about a month ago. what happened now?

Now I am unable to see many other sites as well within geocities. I think there is a server problem at yahoo. Suggets that all those who have their websites on geocities, please check and confirm if your site is working or not. For me, i dont seem to have any other option except to wait and hope that this will be resolved soon

My website is http://in.geocities.com/emesbaize
I can upload files, and go to the File Manager on the Geo-cities website, but can not get the display on the Server. Generally the index.html should appear first. In one explanation of the Yahoo answers it says that Yahoo can suspend the page for violations of TOC and privacy guidelines. It can not be that, but I tried if Yahoo has put up an information of the Server Problem. They have not done so, perhaps hoping to solve it soon. If six days have past, they should inform their clients by email or post a message on the Site. What, can they not do that when they have advanced so much? They have also not provided a way to contact them, but after searching a lot, I sent a feedback to the Customer Service Support, but no answer as yet.

Well, there are two reasons that I know off:
- you don't have an index page listed in your root directory
I am not sure if it should be index.htm or index.html
- server-side wise, the URL you stated above is now a file listing directory and not a website.
Try contacting Geocities Support Team...
Good Luck

I also found that my site is not working. Then I found that it is no working for any of my several friends in South India(possibly whole of India). Inspite of my reasearch , I was not able to contact the right person, to get it rectified. Is is that yahoo has decided that it does not need an Indian customer?

Yahoo has many features, but there is no way of contacting them. Does anyone know the web address of the service to enquire about matters like these?
