We had the same problem with our son. It turns out it was us that didn't want him to drop it, not vice versa. We were afraid he wouldn't sleep through then night and have temper tantrums during the day without it.
When we finally decided to go for it , I had read that you can tie it to the leg of their bed or crib so they have to go to it to use it, it becomes an inconvenience to them to drop everything and go in to use it. He never went to it, ever. So I cleaned house, took them all and tossed them. That first night I was on pins and needles, he asked and we said it was gone and that was it. I know it sounds so simple it's stupid, but its true. He really didn't need it as much as we thought he did.

When she wants the pacifer give her some thing else like a candy on a piece of fruit to help her get away from the habit of using the pacifer.

When my daughter was 14 months, we put her to bed one night and told her,"No more pacifer". She cried for a couple of hours, then fell asleep. Then next night we told her the same thing. A little more crying that night. On the 3rd night, she didn't want it anymore.

Depends on how attached she is to it. Try only letting her have it to lay down, once she's out of bed, the pacifer has to stay too. If that works ok, try putting her to bed without it, if she doesn't notice great! I'm not the best to answer because once my kids were close to their 1 year b-day we said bye bye bink and they never missed it.

I cut the tips off the pacifiers and when my son would pick them up he would try to suck on them and get mad and throw it down and then would go find another one and find the same thing.. I would say well I guess it's broke... he was mad at them and didnt' want them anymore... it took about a week... I liked doing it this way because I didn't like just taking his security away from him I let him decide he didn't want it anymore.. so he couldn't suck on them so he didn't want them..

The best way is to just get rid of them if you don't have them to give then she will eventually get over it. Out of sight out of mind. When I wanted my twins to stop the bottle I threw them out and after two days I don't think they even remembered. Also if your gonna do it cold turkey remember not to bring her around other kids with pacifiers it will only make her remember hers. Good Luck!!

Have her send them off with the pacifier fairy to take them to heaven for all the new babies.
Collect all the binkies and tie them to some helium balloons and have her send them off. Make a big deal about it and even a little party. I saw someone do it with their son and he was so into it and excited about giving his binkies to the new babies. It was so cute and better yet, it worked!

I've always been a fan of handing the pacifier to them, and when they put it in their mouths thumping them on the back of the head with my knuckle.
Also works for: crying, wetting the bed, disobeying, back talk and whining.

Make her throw them in the trash that way she KNOWS they're gone then you have to be strong when she starts the whining and crying. She'll get over it in a couple of days.
