no they are not. Dogs actually have about 400 times more bacteria in their mouth than we do, but they have something in theirs that is supposed to help the healing process ( thats why they lick their wounds). A dogs saliva is only beneficial to the dog though and the same bacteria that doesnt harm them can be potentially dangerous to humans if introduced into the right circumstances.

For a dog, yes. A dog has a special enzyme that helps in the aid of healing. That's why a dog can lick its but and lick its wound and it still heal and normally not get infected.
As for being clean as a humans mouth, the answer is no. We just don't have the enzyme that the dog does.

the myth that a dog's mouth is clean stems from their practice of licking their wounds.

they'll be licking that wound and you'll notice that the wound heals very fast … what that tongue does is it gets rid of the dead tissue.
you're more likely to get a serious illness from kissing a person than kissing a dog. But since dogs do transmit some germs, Keep the vaccines current. Good external parasite control, good internal parasite control. You're going to be good to go."

No.... Dogs mouths have the worst bacteria there is. That is why when you are bit by a dog they won't stitch you up, because the bacteria wouldn't be able to leave the wound and you would get an infection

Cleaner for dogs but not for humans as dogs like to lick their butt etc. It/Salive could cure their wounds and never get sick.
Depends which context you look from.

From what I have heard they have self disenfecting tongues.
To the earlier answer...bacteria thirves in warm moist areas. Bacteria is killed when it is very very warm like the oven or below 32 degrees.

Yes, for the most part it's because of their body temperature. Bacteria are not able to live in those higher temperatures. Which is probably why they can eat stuff off the ground and don't get sick!

Yes absolutely. If a person bites you it can cause death from a single bite. A dog's bite is much more sanitary. They have something in their saliva which aids in the healing of wounds as well.
