Here are some changes you can make one at a time that can give you quick weight loss results:
Eat breakfast
A lot of people skip breakfast. This is a big mistake if you are trying to lose weight. Studies show that those who do not eat breakfast will overeat later in the day. Also, eating breakfast gets your metabolism going, and so whatever is eaten in the morning is metabolized better. If you are not a breakfast eater, try a fruit smoothie or other nutritional shakes.
Drink water
Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Ice water is best because it will speed up your metabolism. Water is, of course, calorie free and flushes out fat. And lastly, drinking water about a half hour before eating will curb your hunger and will make it less likely that you will overeat.
Add vegetables
Adding vegetables to some of your favorite dishes is a good way to get in some extra servings of veggies every day. Some examples are: sauces, soups, omelets, sandwiches, and salads. Of course, vegetables make a great snack by themselves or dipped in low-calorie dressings.
Try to eat more salads
If you're anything like I used to be, as soon as I heard the word "salad," I would immediately think "boring!" That is until I figured out how creative one can be when making a salad. Try adding new vegetables that you haven't tried before or adding boiled eggs, strips of grilled chicken, cheese, and/or nuts. Keep fresh lettuce and spinach leafs on hand, and remember to go easy on the dressing or make your own healthy salad dressing. A healthy and great tasting dressing is mixed olive oil and lemon juice.

You need to exercise that is clear. But you must do the correct exercise. Now you're pretty tall so 236 pounds it's not alot for you. especially if you swim you must have a lot of muscle and that contributes to your weight. Try cardiovascular exercise which not only burns the most calories but also burns the most fat. Don't worry too much about the number on the scale but rather on how much body fat. you have. some scales measure your body fat...
eat healthy, have snacks between meals to keep your metabolism up also remember never to skip breakfast.

Make sure you drink the recommended amount of water daily.
Lots of fruits and veggies. Do NOT deprive yourself of eating!
You should have a healthy breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and then dinner... do not eat before going to bed.
Eat Skinless, Boneless chicken breast or Turkey or Lean Meats. Pork is not a very good choice.
Unsweetened Fruit Juices are good to have.
if you are hungry at bed time, try a fruit or something very light. To lose weight you should walk atleast 5 times a week for atleast an hour each day. to maintain your weight you should walk atleast 3 times a week for atleast an hour a day...
So pretty much, Eat Healthy and Stay ACTIVE.

1) Burn more calories then your consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula
2) Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
4) Get 8 hours of sleep.
or you could try the routine my boyfriend uses....
1. your meals should consist of 50% vegetables or fruit, 25% whole grain carb (rice, pasta, bread), 25% lean protein (fish, chicken, beef, soy).
2. drink only water!! at least 8 glasses, this isnt that hard. if you are awake 16 hours a day, its only half a glass every hour. do allow yourself to drink at 8 ounces of milk or juice.
3. work out 6 times a week! Day one do weight training, Day two do Cardio, Day three weight training, Day four cardio, Day five weight training, Day six cardio. When ever doing cardio do no less than 45 min.
4. SLEEP!! if your going to work out sleep is essential for your body. you need to sleep the full 8 hours.
.....any questions message me, by bf is a body builder so i get alot of second hand knowledge on lose weight, gaining muscle, and the right way to do so
(fyi...just found out!! you daily protein should equal the weight you WANT to be at. so if you want to be 150 pounds take in 150 grams of protein a day)

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then your consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a fitness calculator that you can put on your cell phone and computer. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with excellent resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter.
A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.
*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Email me if you want a good indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have other questions.
*Click on all the source links below to get the full benefit of the recommendations. First, learn how to spell. There's a difference between "loose" and "lose" (hint: "lose" was the word you were looking for here). Second, the only real way to lose weight healthfully and to keep it off is through diet (not talking Atkins sort of diet here, just eating healthy) and exercise four to five times a week.

The classic "eat less, exercise more." Get off the computer and go run around - go swimming, biking, jogging, play tennis or baseball or football. If you eat a lot of fatty foods (lots of buttery stuff, fried foods, ice cream) or sugary stuff (candy, soda, sweets in general) then cut back on them or eliminate them from your diet completely.

you need to incorporate some resistance training to your cardio work. adding muscle will help your body burn more calories even at rest. you should try to eat lean foods and eat a high fiber diet to include a rainbow of high fiber, nutrient dense fruits, berries and vegies every day along with whole wheat/whole grain carbs, lean meats, and soy products. try drinking green tea along with some clean water to help your body stay dydrated. get a pedometer and strive to walk at least 10,000 steps every day. you won't lose a ton of weight by september, but it is reasonable to try to lose 16-20 lbs by then. take it slow, and DONTdeprive yourself. if you crave something, eat ONE serving or just have 3 normal bites. losing excess fat and getting healthy is hard work, but it's so worth it.
