Are you talking about the Henry Doorly Zoo?
The have more than one. It's $5 to rent a wheelchair on a first-come, first-served basis. The motorized scooter is only available to use on the lower level of the Lied Jungle.
If you really need a wheelchair for your visit, just plan on getting there early.
If you've never been to the Henrly Doorly Zoo before, it's really great!!! But it's a workout, if you have to walk! Spent 7 hrs there last summer....talk about tired!

Check to medical supplies stores in the area and see if they rent scooters or if they know who does.
