I don't think you have to do it any certain way.
I do beleive that God wants us to make vows so that we understand the covenant that is held. And so that we know what we are doing. I said vows, he said vows, I think it makes things a little bit more clear.

God doesn't have an instruction book on the wedding vows or how the ceremony is to be conducted. You looked in the Bible and couldn't find it because it's not there. It does however talk about marriage in a more general sense. But there is no right or wrong way. Traditionally, the church created a ceremony out of it. Do what you think is best and most confortable for you.

I found some vows based on 1 corinthians 13:4-13. We got married in the church he grew up in, and we had a nice wedding (only because I missed a lot that got caught on video...I would've been freaking if I would've saw the way my Jr Attendents were behaving!)

Why not just do what is in your heart to do? If you cannot find the answers you are looking for, start asking God to give you the words to say at your wedding. Don't sweat over it, and make yourself get all worried and upset. God has put you two together, so why not just trust Him to guide you throughout the wedding. HE will give you the words to say. You know Him well enough to know that He speaks to our hearts, and if you take your hearts desires to Him, then He will give you the answers you seek. There is a Bible verse that says to be still on your bed at night, and listen to His voice, so in the nights, when all is quiet and dark, LISTEN for Him. He will instruct you.

It is your special day and if you only want to stand before a clergy and exchange vows that is your option. However, when two people stand before God and their family and friends to promise their love and fidelity, what better way to do so than to allow your family and friends the opportunity to bless your union with prayer and song.

I don't' think there is a certain way Christians have to wed, as long as it isn't anything sin full. But i would ask my pastor if there is anything in the Bible or how to do it.
Best Wishes in your Marriage!!!
