do you have to have a license or rabbi tag to take a small dog out in public if your holding it or on leash?

I agree with the previous poster, who said it depends on where you are located. Many towns and cities require that you have a dog license. When you get your license they will require that you have your rabies shots up to date. Regardless of the law, you should have rabies vaccinations.

To find out the law in your community you should contact your city hall or other municapal administration.

Many people choose to not license their pet despite the law requiring it. In my community it isn't enforced heavily, but if they find your pet running at large, they will fine you if it isn't registered.

Yes ! Believe me I live in a small town , I recieved a "ticket" for not having it registered & the rabies tag was at home. The ticket was $50.00.We were just taking a walk."dog was on a leash"

Any dog requires a license and for the dog and your safety it should have a rabies shot. The vet puts the record of the shot on a medal tag that hangs on the dogs collar, the license also hangs on the collar

It depends on where you live and what the laws are.I would! If your Dog was to get loose and lost (It happens every day) It would make it easier to get it back home...
A rabies Tag actualy isnt PROOF of shots if your dog bites someone, you need to save the paperwork the Vet gives you s/he will have it on file as well.If you DONT have a rabies tag/shot your dog is OK as long as it is under 3 months old..If older please go get her shots.Its protects the pup and the public!
