awww, don't buy a pet store dog, get a rescue dog! You won't find a house trained dog at a pet store, but most rescue dogs are house trained, since they have been owned before. I have a rescue eskie was even trained (somehow) by her former owner to puke in the bathtub! That is quite a trick, if you've never had a dog before you don't know this, but dogs just puke wherever they please usually, on your couch, your rug, your bed...
Anyway, please get a rescue eskie, there are so many who need homes, and with a quick google search I found an eskie rescue in your area!

This is an extra edit to the woman above: eskies do NOT nip! Only badly trained dogs nip, and eskies are very smart and very easy to train. They are beautiful dogs with strong shining personalities and they do awesome tricks (they were used as circus dogs for a long time).

Are you sure you want an American Eskimo? They tend to be VERY hyper and may bark and nip a LOT.
You're not going to get any good dog for $300 - and you shouldn't ever buy a dog from a pet store. Puppies don't come already trained - you have to do the work yourself to raise the dog properly.
If you want an ornament to impress your friends, get a rabbit or a guinea pig - they're friendly, easy to keep, live in a cage, and don't have to be walked or trained.
Find a good breeder by going to www.akc.org or talking to people at dog shows. You can also find info about the breed clubs on the akc site - they probably have a rescue group where you can get an older dog for less money. The best breeders will be members of their breed club, promoting healthy dogs with great temperaments. They should ask you a bunch of questions to make sure their puppy will be getting a good home. If all a "breeder" seems to care about is whether your check will clear, you can be sure he won't care a week later when the pup is dying from distemper or parvo and you want your money back.
Whatever you do, DON'T go to a pet shop, a flea market or buy one sight-unseen off the Internet!!!! You'll pay top dollar for what is usually a poor quality puppy mill dog. And you'll be supporting one of the cruelest industries in the country. The breeding animals are often kept in deplorable conditions - spending their entire lives in small wire-bottomed cages. They probably haven't been vaccinated against contagious diseases or tested for any health or temperament problems or genetic diseases - that costs money and cuts into their profits. A female is often bred every time she comes into heat. When her poor little body can't take it any more, she is often clubbed in the head and tossed into a dumpster or an open ditch. Most puppy mills ship their pups to pet stores at wholesale prices and many pups die before they even get there.
These so-called "breeders" have now figured out that they can use the internet to ship a dog directly to the customer and thus make more money by cutting out the middleman. If you buy a dog from out of state, good luck getting your money back if there's something wrong with the pup. These people count on you becoming instantly attached to the poor little guy and being willing to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars at the vet to treat whatever is wrong with him.

Well to start off w/ you will NEVER find a pet store w/ FREE puppies & like everyone else has said a pet store isnt really the best palce to buy puppies. Alos if its a "puppy' that you want finding on that is already potty trained & has all its shots & is well tempered????? well honestly hun your not gonna find a young one.....puppies have to learn to go outside & that takes time & patience, it doesnt just happen. If you want them to come trained & completly vaccinated then your going to have to pay for this service, under $299.00???? good luck, you "might" find one at a shelter but you have to keep lookin gtill you find one. You sound like youd be better off w a slightly older dog not old mind you just older, say about 6 months at least.......you cant expect to get something for nothing if your seriously interested in owning a dog, a purebred dog at that you need to do some homework & be willing to spend the time & money. Im not trying to be rude it just sounds like you need to put alittle more time into learning about owning a dog before you actually going out and doing it, pets are a responsibility. Kinda a lot like kids, they require lots of time love & well money too, they are not an investment they are a part of your family & family isnt cheap...its priceless.

Please do NOT buy from any pet store. Puppies in pet stores are usually the products of puppy mills. They are often not purebred even though advertised as such. They are often registered with scam registries such as CKC (Continental Kennel Club or Canine Kennel Club), ACA (American Canine Association), WW (Worldwide Kennel Club), etc. Even if purebred they usually poor reps of their breed, have behavior, temperament and/or health issues. Also most pet stores sell their puppies for as much as and often times more then what you could buy a pet puppy from a reputable, responsible breeder.
Puppies don't come potty trained either.Puppies need not only potty training, but socialization and obedience training. Puppies take time and responsability.
I would recommend either contacting a responsible breeder (who can help match you to a suitable dog), does health testing (not just vet exams), temperament tests, socialization, pedigree research, etc or a breed rescue.

do not support puppy/dog stores.. ..you will most likely not have a good experience, on the other end of the situation. with the Internet at your disposal, use it do a lot of homework.. this animal will be an important part of your family...any one that sells animals for profit is considered a "breeder" no matter how small or large of an operation it is . try to see the mother and father of the puppy, that will give you a possible idea of what you may be in for. it would be better than just taking another human/breeders word for it , most likely they will tell you what you want to hear to sell another dog and make more money! after all that's the bottom line.. hope i give you something to think about, before you make an important final decision...good luck

Never buy from a pet store. Their dogs come from puppy torture mills and most often are sick as well as unsocialized and removed from the litter at too early an age. Never get a puppy that has been removed from it's litter before 8 weeks. Otherwise you will have severe problems. Get on akc.org, go to your breed of choice, then go to the website of the national breed club. This will give you a contact number of someone who can direct you to a local breeder who is known to be of high standard.

don't buy dogs from pet stores - most are bred in puppy mills which is a breeder that mass breeds dogs for money - most have tons of health conditions or temperment problems. I've known many people that have bought from pet stores and have either lost their puppy to sickness within weeks of purchase or had to give them up for being too agressive. Stick to finding a good breeder. and you will most likely have to potty train yourself - just one of the dog owner duties

Well, I would try a rescue. If you want a puppy that is potty trained and has all it's shots, it is going to be at least 4 months old. Rescue dogs are usually a little older, but have all their vet care done, and are really good buys. (most are under $150, depending were you are at)
Eskies are notoriously hard to housebreak, and do need obedience training. They can be difficult little dogs, as they love to bark, and are hyper little buggers. A rescue will give you on-going support, and help you with any "issues" you may have.
Look for rescues at www.AKC.org, or contact your local ASPCA.

Try checking the animal shelters in your area. Also if you're looking for a puppy YOU will have to train them to go outside. Puppies are like babies...they don't come trained. All a breeder is required to do is to make sure they've seen the vet and have had all the necessary inoculations. If you don't want the responibility of training a puppy don't get one.
