We had a much larger dog, a German Shorthair Pointer, and he swallowed a rock. I don't know why he made that decision.

We didn't know until he stopped having bowl movements, was vomiting, and didn't want to eat or drink. An xray showed that his digestive track was blocked.

If you know the approximate size of the pit, I would call your vet and ask for advice

it will not digest but may pass. keep an eye on his poop to see if it goes out. If not you may have to have it surgically removed
