The term "God Fearing" means that we REVERANCE God. It does not mean that we literally are afraid of Him!!! As God gave us the choice (free will) as to wheather or not we will follow Him or Satan, and our goal is for our souls to have eternal life and to be WITH God, why would we literally FEAR Him? Satan appeared as a snake in the Garden of Eden. You should not worship them!!! You have free will!!! Pick up a Bible and read it chapter by chapter, verse by verse, and you will no longer ask blasphemous questions.

I would rather worship a snake than a God. At least snakes exist.

Snakes Alive! There were a considerable number of "Gnostic Christians" that were killed by the prevailing Christians once long ago,for an anathema alot like that ...Actually it was just a different Astrosophical understanding of Genesis and the "Logos"...Ophidian...What else do Christians fear?... they often kill things they fear....

You are right to fear snakes, they actually exist. No need to worship them though, just send your offerings to me.

You are mistaking fear with respect. God doesn't want us to be fearful in the sense that you do with snakes, He wants us to have a reverent fear, or high respect and honor for him.

The fear is more about respect and awe of power, I think, than actual terror. Otherwise, Bush would be worshipping Bin Laden, and that may screw things up a bit.

Fear means reverential awe. And we don't worship because we fear. That is, you don't worship God out of fear; you worship Him because He is worthy with an attitude of fear. As in, you worship Him in fear. Ta-da!

Fear of snakes is an unhealthy one.
Snakes can't turn you into a gerbil or a vibrator (although that might not be such a bad thing)
