Now that we have the benefits of science and reason in 2006, we will fight this fight of control that our dead ancestors could not. Why do you think they weren't able to push back the rich controlling "priests"

There are so many unfairness constructed by history and the system, third world vs first world, rich vs poor, men vs women. We are stuck in a unfair system and forced to believe that's how the system should work.
I often ask myself, why should I live in a very complicated mind, when others live in a simple mind and life, yet they live happily?
It's said "Ignorance is a bliss"...Where the true happiness is, I don’t know.

I think people are programed to accept this type of behavior. Whether it comes from a priest or their government leaders. Anyone that assumes a 'leadership' type of role will gain this 'respect'. Those of us who are rational and logical become the enemy.
Like those who spoke against the preists and what they were doing were exucted in a very public way. This means the general public accepted the power of the priest - and hated reason.

Jesus
Allah
Did NOT create religion.
They simply SPOKE life lessons. Never did any of them right down thoughts or other things for us to live by. It was always someone else doing it for them.

It was atheists who invented religion. Of course, they weren't believers or they wouldn't have dared to make one up. Those who felt the spirit, fell in line. Then a funny thing happened, they began to doubt the Baal the atheists had made.
But they said, "Okay, but this couldn't all have happened by itself. So since Baal is false where do we go from here?"
Then God saw how the people had been conned by the atheists and he thought, "What a shame, they really want to find me, and the atheists led them astray" So he decided to talk to Abraham and the rest is history. But the atheists lost control so they're trying to undo what they started that ended with them on the outside.
They're still trying to con us.

Why would the rich men who invented religion put up a fight?
And then rich men invented Atheism to control poor people and women, (Soviet Union, China, U.S.A.,) what is the difference?

One has to consider a "scribe elite" shaming an illiterate and uneducated... in the context of those times...
It is not clear if you are primarily referencing the "latin clergy" integrating to tolerant heathens .. and then slaughtering them when they decided it was time to sift out "anathemas"...
Or in the Nietsche sense ... Pre-Christian powerplays by scribe and mystic sects ...
But in both cases this same pattern applies ... However the prechristian sects tended to be more tolerant, and integrating ... Whether we examine Zoroastrianism to Mazdean practices ... the Greek Mysteries ... or the Egyptian ... Those scribe-aphabet power orders tended to integrate and change according to new movements... whereas Christianity tended simply to exterminate opposing views ...

What, women aren't people?
I like the way you say "rich men invented religion". Seems to me most of the men who followed Christ in the beginning were poor. Actually, it was his female disciples who supported his ministry.
If you say women aren't people, I want to see proof, real scientific proof. Maybe we actually evolved from some higher form of life than men, which has now died out.
If you tell me that Jesus' followers were rich, I want to see solid proof...like maybe their bank statements.
Or maybe, since you know so much about it, you were there? How old are you anyhow?

Since everyone is going to whine about how you stated your quesiton, allow me....HE MEANT THE RICH SCUMBAGS WHO PROMOTED THE RELIGIOUS RAVINGS OF POOR CRAZY PEOPLE LIKE JESUS AND TURNED IT INTO INSTITUTIONS WHICH IN TURN RAPED, MURDERED AND ROBBED THE POOR PEOPLE THAT THE ORIGINAL POOR CRAZY NUTBAG WAS PREACHING TO IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Sound about right?
They couldn't push back for the most part because if they did they'd lose their land if they were lucky or they'd be executed as heretics if they weren't so lucky.

Religion is in many ways "opressive" to women, and often they are controlled by those with wealth. Can not the same be said about politics through out history?

God is all powerful and all glory and all wisdom and every knee should bow to him.And rich men are not the same as God.The bible is true and it is God's breathed word.The athiest people out there will believe that God is and always was on judgement day.The demons in hell know this and they tremble with fear.
