After my last question I came up with the opinion that atheists do not have a central belief system, and they all believe different, each one deciding for himself. ( I think that sums the answers up that I got) Anyway do ALL atheists believe in evolution, or are there types of evolution or some other beliefs????

I'm an atheist, and I believe in evolution, but I'm sure there are other atheists out there who don't.

Between two stories lies the truth. In other words, since evolution nor creationism can be proven nor refuted scientifically or with faith then the truth must be that they are both true. We were created by something, what that something was we do not know. And, just as well, we have been evolving since that day, but what drives that force we don't truly know either. There are hypotheses, but no true fact. There is faith, but no hard evidence.

Ideas of things don't come from no where, they started somewhere. Take the Dragon. A story of this creature is in every culture. All people had to do was stumble upon one big bone and take a guess at what these creatures were, and the story gets expanded on from there. It's a big creature....It's a big flying creature....It's a big flying creature that breathes fire. And years later we learn they were dinosaurs.

When we die we will probably find out that this story of a great man who made us from his image, who is vindictive and spiteful, yet loving and generous, is not what we thought at all. Nothing so great, so terrifying. Just the creator, no more no less.

No, not all atheists believe in evolution, but certainly most do. In fact, I would say the majority of people, atheist or not, do believe in evolution. Evolution does not disprove God, it only disproves creationism. There is simply too much evidence to support evolution for it not to be so widely accepted. I am sure there are parts of the world where creationism is more accepted than others, but certainly, most people who have compared the two theories and the evidence for them, would agree that evolution is probably a fact.

I'm an atheist myself, and if by "central belief system" you mean a spiritual one, you're right. But I believe in facts, observation, evidence, proof, and other things things that are real; not what some mythical book says.

As for your evolution question, there are strong scientific FACTS that support that theory, so, yes, I do believe in evolution.

I believe that someday we will figure out how life got here. I don't believe we know yet. I am an atheist. I give the theory of evolution credit because it is the best attempt at a real explaination and hopefully will lead us to the ultimate truth.

The answer of Mr. "rockandroll5" set me to re-thinking a friend's position about the need to have EITHER education reform OR promote abortion. But now to your question:

Being a non-believer or a skeptic doesn't in itself qualify a person to make informed judgments about scientific matters. It merely blocks the easy acceptance of nonsense. An atheist may not know what M-theory, or evolution, etc. involve in detail, but he/she will dismiss any solution the injects the myths of fairies, demons, or other deities to account for say, genetic diversity.

What, I don't have the holy spirit is that why I don't understand? Please I got baptized in May 2000 in a Christian Church and attended BIble studys. Do you know why I left:

Cause I believe in evolution which is inconsistent with Genesis.

Whats this mean? 1) No God. 2) I didn't have the holy spirit - even thou I really really really believed. 3) There is a god its just not the judeo christian one. 4) Maybe God didn't tell MOses about evolution, if so, did he tell moses homosexuality is an abomination, don't give me that crap about Romans 1, how do we know Paul wrote that because Jesus told him, what if he wrote that and Jesus didn't tell him.

See what I mean

I'm a Christians and I don't believe in a literal Creationist ideal, so I would assume that some atheists reject Darwins theory as well. But as a majority, Darwin's theories have been the answer to the atheists questions about our origins.

Evolution makes more sense than biblical creationism, so most of the Atheists would prefer Evolution.

Some Atheists just don't care at all, but evolution is a much more believable thing that religion is, so I can't blame them.
