yes there has been several people who has gone to the former eastern bloc to have treatment. if you are lucky to get a really good clinic then you will be fine.
but the risk of something going wrong and then having to pay three times that you paid for to get it right is always there. 90% of the time it is simple and everything works fine.
Have you thought what will happen if you have a problem related to some dental work done in hungary and have to go there to get it looked at? are yuu going to hop on the plane everytime you get a tooth ache?
think carefully and act wisely

I may not answer you the right answer. But I would like to recommend Thailand, famous for world class healthy care, as seen in CBS TV' 60 minutes and in Time Magazine. Many dentists here are graduates and well-trained in Europe and US. Many of them are The American Board and German Board from their related field. Hotels and clinics are reach to high International Standard. The price is 1/3 -1/4 back to Western Countries. For example, The Denture is approx. USD 200 - USD 500 max. (depends on how many teeth need to be done), Implants are approx. USD 2,000 - USD 2,500, Crown/Bridge is approx. USD 250 - USD 450 and etc. These will be treated by specialise dentist in 1st Class hospital or clinic. The airfare from Europe to Thailand round trip is approx. USD 800. The cost of living in Thailand is very cheap which you can buy a meal at USD 1.5 (not in a big restaurant). Hotel price is varied form USD 15 to 3 stars at USD 30 and more for 4/5 stars. People there can speak English. I would like to recommend you one of Medical Agency in Thailand that will not charge you for the services fee and plus they have many good deals with many doctors and hospital that you don't have to pay more than walk-in price. What do you mean you can't afford it in the UK????
The UK has that "wonderful" socialized medicine where everything is taken care of for you and they tax you until you have nothing left.
