I've gone no more than a day without brushing my teeth. I brush twice a day and floss once or twice a day. There are no cavities and minimal scraping when I get my teeth cleaned. I also use a tongue scraper.
Beware: bad oral hygene will catch up to you eventually. However, it's never too late to start with good habits. Brush twice a day for at least 2 minutes in duration each time. Spend 30 seconds on the top outside, 30 seconds on the top inside, 30 seconds on the bottom outside, and 30 seconds on the bottom inside.
You should also floss at least once a day, preferrably at night. Flossing is as important as brushing. Many dental hygenists recommend flossing in the morning and at night. They say deposits form on teeth overnight and flossing in the morning (in addition to flossing at night) will lessen the amount of scraping they have to do when cleaning your teeth. Good luck.

This is gonna sound gross. I went about 4years without visiting the dentist and I brushed my teeth only about every other day or so. When I eventually did go to the dentist they told me I had ginigvitis and that my gums had started to recede in one spot. It doesn't seem like brushing does a whole lot - but it really does. Now I brush regulalry.

While I was in Iraq I went about three weeks without brushing my teeth. I doesn't hurt them extremely bad but it can if you go longer than that. You should try to brush at least once a day.

1 day. You'll really be sorry when you start losing your teeth, you're afraid to smile, your breath smells really bad from rotting teeth, and it will be too late to do anything about it.. BRUSH YOUR TEETH EVERY DAY AT LEAST ONCE, as well as yiur tongue too. I still have all my original teeth & I'm in my 50's. So brushing your teeth isn't just a useless function - it really works. Also, when you brush, you are getting rid of the bacteria & germs that have accumulated in your mouth overnight while sleeping - why do you think everybody has bad breath in the morning? DUH!!

Honestly - not very long!! It's such a habit for me. I've gone, maybe, three days without brushing.
