I can't think of a way one person of a religious organization, in a country with free speach, COULD affectively regulate another of that group other than each getting their own views and opinions out and then it becomes nothing more than a political contest. Besides which, most Christians, though they will give their opinions on the matter, hold the belief that it is ultimately their God who regulates and judges another person.

You and I have different opinions on politics. Same thing. Being a good christian is a really personal thing IMO. Some people who think that they are good Christians really suck at it IMO. And wouldn't take policing. So I live my llife as a Christian to the best of my ability and hope that it is good enough at the end of the day. Most days I know that it isn't but I will try again tomorrow.

Christians, like a lot of other people regardless of faith, try to regulate EVERYTHING! Yes, they regulate each other, but they don't look at it as you are. They feel it's their duty to help others. Too often they know what's right and see it easily in others but not in themselves, then they're quick to point out wrong in others. . .turning a blind eye to their own problems. It's not just that way in Christian communities though.

yes actually.....
it is Bibically sound, for Christians to respectfully bring to the attention of their brothers and sisters in Christ, any concern regarding their behavior, or actions, as long as it is done respectfully.
I believe in respect period.
If youre a non believer, you might know where i stand, but i would never try to confuse someone with Bible babble. First of all, it is also written that non Christians cannot accept Gods Word, it makes no sense to them. I believe when people are ready to seek, they will ask, its a personal thing, and then of course if i can i would help to clarify anything they find questionable.
satan is said to be the author of confusion, and with good reason.
i hope that helps.

In a word, yes. We should be policing ourselves. The Bible commands us to live in peace, as best as we can with all man. But it also commands us to share our faith (some do this very badly and it comes off as abrasive know-it-all-ism) and to help other Christians live in a way that glorifies God.
People will read into the Bible what they will, and often interpret it wrong, but their intent is to live in accordance to God's Word. Some honestly believe that they should bring judgment to the world and condemn everyone in an effort to "scare" them into faith. Not so good!
Personally, I know the high standard that the Bible sets for Christians, and I also know that I have a lot to learn. And that I should not hold non-believers to these standards. I may want my non-Christian friends to live in a way that is glorifying to God, but I know that glorifying God is not their life's aim. So I give them some slack, pray for their salvation and try to live my life as a good example to them. I can't make the choice for them. :-)

just like with any group of people there will be different thoughts on any subject provided one is still capable of thinking. The Fundy Christians aren't as violent towards their own as the the Fundy Islamics but then most Protestants would kill Catholics if they could keep from being Bubba's boyfriend.

I wouldn't give a damn about what anyone chooses to believe if they were not making their religious beliefs a political issue and trying to have their religious tenets enforced through government legislation...private belief is fine with me and that is what belief should stay...private! between each man and his God whoever that God is and if he believes in a God.
Yes, they should get their story together and there shouldn't be so many Christian denominations but there are...it just shows how divisive and exclusive Christianity is that it separates even Christian from Christian...let alone from the rest of us.

You have to remember, everybody who claims to be a Christian, may not be. A true Christian is known by His or Her fruit!! The Word of God says, Love God with your whole mind, spirit and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself. In saying this, we are our brothers keepers!

Christians know only one thing ~ to try to live the life of Jesus, to follow his footsteps, but of course we're only human and very inquisitive and sinful. But our goal is to live like Christ, follow the right path. I don't think that's being confused by any other Christian who knows His Word ~ the Bible. I think YOU'RE confused. Maybe you should learn more about your spirituality.
