PLEASE PLEASE dont try wifes tayles . There is a product you can buy especially for this , you can get it from 'pets at home' and other big pet stores. It is called wash and get off you can use it inside your house or out in the garden. It is a spray that WILL NOT HARM THE STRAY ANIMALS but will stop them from fowling in your garden it is about 4 pound and each application lasts up to twelve weeks , ive had my bottle for 3 months used it 3 times and it has stopped the strays fowling 100 %. and i still have some left. Not bad for the price!!!!

You having a cat won't stop other cats coming in; they'll use your garden as a toilet in rotation. If you get a dog, cats will wait til its indoors.
If you get some silicon water retaining granules, the sort that you add to hanging basket compost; soak it in orange oil and spread it around the perimeter in yoghurt pots the orange scent lasts longer. You can get a commercial product from Asda/Walmart thats the same thing. Its best if you can put it in a pot with a loose cover to keep the rain out. Also dab the orange oil on wooden fence posts and gates.
Another thing to do is plant something prickly and dense around the perimeter, something like berberis. It forms a thick low hedge. You can also try firethorn, and you can lay cut branches on the soil so its unpleasant to walk on.
Another scent that keeps cats and dogs away is patchouli oil; you dab it around the perimeter, but it is a very strong scent and you might not like it.
You can make cut outs of cat faces with big round eyes but you have to move them regularly and they wont keep dogs out.

per chance flow your litterbox right into a room and get a puppy gate that has a small door large adequate for cats. Or, in case your canine is small and that isn't artwork, attempt getting a litterbox with a correct on it and save it faraway from the position the canine many times is or make an section the position it's going to be the position your canine isn't allowed. If something the superb element is to consistently verify and clean your litterbox. there is also a supplement i have considered at puppy shops that announces to end stool ingesting, i'm assuming that is merely the supplementations and minerals that your canine feels the want for and fills with the poop. and some same to it because they are gross. proceed to inform her NO in a comfortable agency voice, and practice her the drop it command.

Go to pet store they sell some type of spray to keep dogs out of the areas. Or whenever you see a dog going to your private garden area grab some water and wet them most dogs hate that they will know that you will wet them if they go to your private garden.

Call Animal Control if you have one...If not perhaps you could borrow some Humane Traps from a Shelter Set them..and load the animals up Traps and all..Take them o the Shelter...Its not fair for you to work hard in your garden while people dont keep up with these animals. You may as well throw the money you invested in the garden out of the window!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparantley orange peel prevents cats from going on your garden, a relative had this problem, so she put orange peel in the lawn and the cats didnt go anywhere near it... not sure what you could use for dogs though.

A fence will stop dogs.

There are many devices they sell at the garden centers for discouraging deer and wild animals - it has a motion detector that turns on your sprinkler and chases them away. This is one of them:

Put moth balls (or flakes) around your garden area. Sounds crazy but it worked for me. Just put them around the entire outside edges. If you can't find the balls and use the flakes, just be sure to replace when you see that they are washing away. Another good thing is that they are inexpensive!
