Lots of viggies go well with steak. Wild rice. Grilled mushrooms. Sauteed broccoli or green beans or carrots or snow peas or as everyone noted asparagus -- all of these are great in a Chinese "brown sauce" which is a beef stock based sauce. What works with beef is anything that is "earthy". Fruity or peppery accents are sometimes good.

Many may disagree with me but I think cheese should not be near beef. Thus broccoli with cheese is out.

A medley of steamed vegetables is always nice and adds a dash of color to the plated steak. You can steam whatever your favorites are -- baby carrots, broccoli, snow peas, et cetera. You can try honey- (or brown sugar-) glazed carrots, green beans cooked in a broth of your choice instead of water, or steamed asparagus with a light cream sauce drizzled over them. Sounds yummy!

Tempera battered asparagus w/ hollindaise and lump crab meet if your feeling adventurous. Mushrooms and onions sauteed in butter and a red wine (preferably a Cab.) reduction sauce. Fire roaster bell peppers (red and green), jalapenos, and southwest seasoning make a great relish for steaks.

Almost any veggie. Baked potato is the best but there's always corn on the cob, grill some portabello mushrooms with the steaks, veggie kabob's. Be creative, if you're still having problems deciding try: foodnetwork.com for some more ideas.
