FACTS: Black cats are NOT BAD LUCK... Being a black cat is unlucky for the cat not people because of ignorance. People who do not KNOW there is no such thing as bad luck... its LIFE. Some folks get blessings, some get the shaft; but a black cat is commonly associated with witchcraft. Witchcraft often enlists the use of an animal as a "famiilar spirit"... Mindless fear and a lack of information causes people who are unenlightened about this subject to be afraid of a black cat. it is not reasonable to FEAR ANY CAT of ANY COLOR particularly a BLACK one.
A cat is a cat. Its color has NO bearing on anything that is connected to you unless you mistreat it and it has to defend itself by biting or scratching you. All cats will demonstrate when they've had enough of rough handling or intentional abuse by hissiing, scratching or biting you to cause you to stop bothering them.
As an animal advocate and lover of all creatures great and small -minus the snakes and spiders, and giant roaches which Florida has an abundance of- I have cared for a great many cats, and they are just like people...some are super friendly, some just dont want any thing we have except their next dinner... Black cats like ALL CATS are no different than any other cat. That is the FACTS. IT is true.

Not true. That was just a superstition. Back then people who black cats were considered witches, so that's why people think black cats are bad luck.

They aren't it's a stereotype, they're associated with witches. A long time ago when people were afraid of witches, they used to kill black cats and try to get rid of them. I have a black cat, and even though he's vicious he's great, and not bad luck at all.

Black cats are just sweet cats. I have one; love 'em. He's just a sweet cat. As a church goer, I don't adhere to luck of any kind bc God is in charge. The Creator is in charge...not the created. Have a good day.

Its just a sterotype, it's totally not true and theres no facts that say it is. I have a black cat and he is sweetest cat I've ever had and he hasn't brought me bad luck yet.

I believed that untill I got a female black cat myself. It turns out that she is the best companion I have ever had. Every cat has different personality. But my black cat, she will meaw back to me differently everytime I talk or ask her questions. She is very playful and very lovable.

See my picture? My two black cats, Stinky & Blinky, have brought me nothing but joy. However, they have not helped me win the lottery, but I don't think that it's their fault. So I think your black cat theory is hogwash, as are most superstitions. However, I did walk under a ladder and a big, fat painter fell on me.
