These questions are for Jehovah's Witnesses:

1. Why does knocking on doors get you "higher" in your religion?
2. Why do you have to have a four door car?
3. Why can't you celebrate birthdays, Christmas, or other holidays?
4. Why can't you have flags or anything else patriotic?
5. Why do you dress kids up and make them look poor in order to get people to invite you into their home so you can witness to them?

And another...why don't you have windows in your buildings?

Jenni are you serious? Well here's another question, why don't they accept blood transfusions? The little kid down the street has a problem with his foot and can't walk without surgery but his mother won't let him do it because they are Jehovah's Witnesses.

Here's another question for you. Why do they knock on your door, see a wheelchair in the hallway and say 'someone in this house must have sinned greatly to deserve that!'
True story.

I'm one of JW's.
1.Don’t understand. What do you mean?
2.Not all JW’s have four door cars. My brother has a truck that’s only 2 doors. Some JW’s have 2 door or 4 door automobiles. I know other JW’s that have 2 doors and/or 4 doors.
3.Because they have pagan related origins and are not Christian holidays. Just do research on them and the origins of them.
4.Because we are no part of the world. Just as Jesus said in John 17: 16 “They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.” 1 Corinthians. 10:14: “Flee from idolatry.” Also we are Neutral; we don’t take sides of any nation.
“The act of emperor worship consisted in sprinkling a few grains of incense or a few drops of wine on an altar which stood before an image of the emperor. Perhaps at our long remove from the situation we see in the act nothing different from . . . lifting the hand in salute to the flag or to some distinguished ruler of state, an expression of courtesy, respect, and patriotism. Possibly a good many people in the first century felt just that way about it but not so the Christians. They viewed the whole matter as one of religious worship, acknowledging the emperor as a deity and therefore being disloyal to God and Christ, and they refused to do it.”—The Beginnings of the Christian Religion (New Haven, Conn.; 1958), M. F. Eller, pp. 208, 209.
5. We don’t do that. There are some JW’s that are poor or middle class. Like my family is middle class.
6. There are some Kingdom Halls that do have windows. Whether it's here in the US or in other parts of the world. I've been to a Kingdom Hall with windows before. Also the reason why is because of the cost. Without the windows the cost is less. Also without windows there won't be vandalism and also there won't be any distraction.
7. There is other ways Doctors can do a surgey without using a blood transfusions. It's been done before. http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/1998/8/22/article_01.htm http://www.watchtower.org/library/hb/index.htm?article=article_02.htm

Hope that answers your questions.

This question seems designed mostly to slander and insult the Jehovah's Witness religion. Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

These accusations are simply outrageous. Jehovah's Witnesses do *NOT* believe that knocking on doors elevates them in any way, do *NOT believe that they need a four door car, and do *NOT* "dress kids up and make them look poor" for ANY reason.

1. We do not fell that knocking on doors makes us higher in the religion. Everyone is equal although some people do have postions of authroity. We feel that knocking on doors helps us to tell people about our creator.

2.Not everyone has a four car door. I guess it is their choice.

3.We do not celebrate birthdays because the only people in the Bible that celerbrated their birthdays were two bad men. On both of the birthdays someone was killed. Try going to http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2000/12/15/article_01.htm for more information on christmas. For other Holidays see http://www.watchtower.org/library/rq/article_11.htm.

4.We belive that our allengence should go to God. Not a flag created by mere man. Also it is like worshiping a flag by not letting it touch the ground and so forth.

5.We do not dress our kids up like they are poor. We try to groom our kids in a manner that pleases God.

1. JW's do not get elevated for knocking on doors.
2. I know a lt of JW's and non-JW's and they all have either a 4 door or a 2 door vehicle.
3. JW's don't celebrate those holiday's because they are pagen and there are other religions that don't celebrate some of those hol;idays. You should get an encyclopedia and look up those holidays to see where they originated from. You'll be surprised. I was!
4. JW's give their alligence to God only.
5. JW's are follow scriptures to have good hygiene and to dress modestly and neat at all times. If there are JW's coming to your door and the kids 'look poor' maybe it is because they ARE poor. Not everyone can afford the best. Jesus sent the apostles out to preach from door to door and city to city and the Bible says that when he was with them he(Jesus) didn't even have a pillow to lay his head on. JESUS WAS POOR AND WENT DOOR TO DOOR! So when you talk about JW's like that it is like you are saying the same thing about Jesus.

You shouldn't be so mean to them. Maybe you should put you focus on child molesters or something.

You are uninformed and flat out lying.
I have talked with you before, you had a different name, but you are the same person.
No answer is going to be good enough. No logic clear enough.
Your goal is to make witnesses jump through endless hoops you throw in front of them so as to amuse yourself.
You're a pitiful excuse for a person.

I am not a witness but understand all their beliefs. You are told about in the Bible
2 Peter 3:3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires.

Let's give the asker some accurate answers to his questions, assuming his asking is in sincerity and not some thinly-disguised attempt at trying to discredit the faith:

(1) Knocking on doors does not get one "higher" in our religion. Our commission, or rather the commission of all Christians, is to follow in the example that Jesus and his apostles set for us, which is to preach to others about the good news of God's Kingdom. In Matthew 28:19, 20 Jesus laid the command upon his true follower to go and make disciples of people of all nations, teaching them the truth about God's Word and his Kingdom. It is a commission from Jesus Christ that we speak to others about God. It is not an option, it is incumbent upon us to do this work, and we do so, not to climb up in some kind of "ranking" within the organization (of which there is none anyway), but because we're obedient to Jehovah and Jesus Christ and it's a means by which we demonstrate our love for them and for those we bring the message to.

(2) We don't have to have a four-door car, but it stands to reason that a four-door car is much easier to drive a car group around in when engaged in the field ministry. It's just obviously easier than a two-door, especially if you have 4 or 5 with you in the car.

(3) The ONLY celebration upon which Christians are obligated to observe is that of Jesus Christ's death.....not his birth, nor his resurrection. A closer examination upon the practices and origins of birthdays and other well-known holidays reveals that they are steeped in false religious practices and teachings. As such, true Christians have absolutely NO share in these things.

(4) Our allegiance as Christians is to Jehovah God and his now-reigning Son, Jesus Christ. We do not give our allegiance or loyalty to any human government or nation. We certainly respect the laws of the lands we live in, and do our utmost to be respectable and honest citizens, but when it comes to pledging allegiance, it is ONLY to Jehovah God and Jesus Christ.

(5) The notion that we "dress kids up and make them look poor in order to get people to invite you into their homes" is just flat-out absurd and ridiculous. NO Jehovah's Witness is guilty of such a thing. We ALL dress cleanly and respectfully as those who are representing the true God, Jehovah, and Jesus Christ. We likewise dress our children in the same manner, especially when training them in the disciple-making work. Whether a householder invites us in to discuss the message we bring is as a result of their own interest in what we have to say. To intimate that it has something to do with purposely dressing our children down (which none of us do, I might add) is completely ridiculous.
